Important Information for your Third Trimester

Reasons to go to the Hospital/Labor & Delivery Triage

Emergent:

  • Advanced labor
  • Cord prolapse
  • Trauma or injury
    • Motor vehicle accident
    • Fall
    • Violence
    • Abuse
  • Vaginal bleeding with or without pain
  • Chest pain / some cyanosis
  • Depression with homicidal / suicidal ideation
  • Preterm labor (29-36 weeks)

Urgent:

  • Vaginal discharge
    • Slow watery leak or sudden gush
    • Light to dark green or brown fluid
  • Decreased fetal movement
  • Sever headache, blurred vision, N/V epigastric pain
    • History of hypertension, swelling (hands, face, feet)
  • Pain and burning with urination
    • Fever, chills, flank/back pain
  • Active labor (36-41 weeks)
